Christmas is just around the corner, you can feel it in the air - that sense of anticipation. For many though, Christmas isn't as joyful as it should be. This is why Girl With a Satchel hosted a Swap Party this month; to raise money for our local community to provide Christmas hampers to those who are less fortunate than most this coming festive season.

And oh, was it a cute occasion!

 

Beauty Amongst the Rough

Rainy Spring Afternoon

On my way to work one afternoon after making a dash to my car in the rain, I was fiddling around with my gear on the passenger seat beside me when I glimpsed up out of my windscreen and saw the most gorgeous rainbow in front of me. I made a frantic reach for my camera (all snugly zipped up in its case) and by the time I had it out, the rainbow had gone. It made me pause, slightly hopeful that the rainbow would reappear, I looked around and realised how beautiful this rainy afternoon was.

I didn't catch a rainbow that afternoon, but I did catch a subtle beauty that comes with a drizzly Spring afternoon.

Sometimes you get so caught up in life - (must get to work on time!) - that you forget to pause, just for a moment, and look around; breathe in and remember how lucky you are.

Spring is Here

The warm, golden afternoons are here, along with the singing insects and

the feeling that you should be cooking dinner on the barbecue along with all of your friends.

I look forward to the next few months of photographing!

Sugar Headache

It's been a while since I've made a homestyle post.

So, after making my most successful & scrumptious batch of fudge, ever - (also known as Butter Tablet),

I thought it fitting to snap a tantalising photo.

As you can well imagine, I am now suffering from a dry-thoat & sugar headache

... but boy, was it worth it!
